    Welcome to CoreSpeed's CoreCommunity

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who has joined our community.  CoreCommunity is the first of its kind, unique and cutting edge platform bringing together subject matter experts from all areas of the enterprise lifecycle together to connect, create, communicate and collaborate about the many ways in which community can be woven into the tapestry of the enterprise to strengthen and extend the myriad of relationships that support the customer lifecycle.  This is the reason why I joined CoreSpeed just a few months ago.

Just a little background on myself.  I'm a native of Cleveland, OH and started my sales career at 6 years old selling everything from newspapers, magazines, greeting cards, lawn care services (my brother), steaks, and many more, door to door.  In high school the technical side of my personality came through as I excelled in science and math.  I married the two by graduating with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and starting in sales right out of college, the only person to do so out of my class.

My first job was in the petrochemical and oil & gas industries.  I was quite the fashion statement with my suit, hard hat and steel toe shoes.  I moved on to serve many other process industries including food, beverage, cosmetic, environmental, finally landing in the semiconductor industry.  In 2000 I entered the world of IT through software quality assurance and testing.

Now, I'm making the leap to Web 2.0, Enterprise Social Media and online communities.  It's a whole new universe.

I'd like to invite you on my journey.

    Welcome aboard!

    Rent a CFO

    Authors: Coeli Carr

    Journal: Small Business Review

    Year: 2007

    Issue: May 17

CFOs alleviate growing pains Many small business owners believe in “the myth is that as sales increase that cash will increase accordingly,” says Jerry L. Mills, author of “Danger Zone: Lost in the Growth Transition,” and founder and CEO of Phoenix, AZ-based B2B CFO, which provides temporary financial experts for businesses. However, as sales increase, expenses— income taxes, payroll, equipment and administrative costs— typically follow suit. The reality is that money often gets tied up in accounts receivable, and gross profit margins go down. Sometimes, employee theft is involved. That’s when lenders – and even vendors – start getting wary. Banks know most business owners aren’t trained to handle these growing pains, says Mills.
